Poet Beth "Batyah" Elishevah Ginzberg expresses her creative poetic meditations about water as a very powerful atmospheric element of the environment. Ginzberg wrote these poems at the East Rogers Park Lake Michigan Beaches, on-the-spot, to experientially convey the full effect of the Great Lakes of Chicago, IL USA for your reading pleasure.

HOW TO WRITE A GREAT SONG

Image result for write a song

Do you have a tune in your head that is going around and around, a musical thoughtful experience, a lively stimulating thread of words, new words, a new song, a song you never heard anywhere else but only in your mind?

The Psalms and The 613 Commandments tell us two ideas, for each of us to write our own Torah, and for us to write our own song, a new song, a song we create ourselves.

How to find the beat? Can you start off by humming and then by tapping your feet, tapping your fingers on a table, fingernail after fingernail, as like on a piano, even a player piano with a beat that never fails. We are to clang together cymbals and play the lyre. Instead of this, we can video ourselves and upload the movie on YouTube.

A new song, tropes as in the tropes of the Hebrew language, calling to God to help you pronounce each word, words that are holy Words, as we say in Hebrew, D'varim.

Call to God and ask Him to put the Words into your mouth, so His Words become your Words, and the songs to become new and creative, lively or meditative.

Strumming on your guitar like she is a woman, the guitar being a body, creating song with her body, the body could be The Shekinah, The YAH, The feminine entity of the Hebrew Goddess, a guitar song that is joyous or too that weeps.

Loving new songs, new poetry in the songs, like a newborn baby, a song could put the baby to sleep, a song that sings as a lullaby, a soothing song. A song that never ends...

A SWIMMING LAKE SOON TO BE A HOCKEY RINK

Image result for hockey

A swimming lake soon to become a lake on which to skate, round and round, a time for an entire family of The Bobbsey Twins, The Brady Bunch, to play hockey, spinning thick black rubber pucks back and forth hitting them against cracking screeching hockey sticks, flashing like lightening, the speed of light and sound, smashing into a hockey goal net, so fast in its speed it cannot ever be stopped, generation after generation, more and more, eternally.

A goalie swinging his padded arm up as in a catch, but not in the nick of time, a goal won by the opposing team, the numbers of winning points excelling, a game turned into a life's endeavor, we play the game of life to help us and others to enjoy ourselves, to have a beautiful day everyday, to have fun, yes, but mostly to win, definitely, we know we can win, with WON that is also spelled ONE, as in ONE God to worship so life does not become a mess of massive confusion, only one God, one life in present day, one reincarnation after the other one, one LOVE, being God as He rests inside your body and brain, and of course, in our hearts.

Who to love? Love yourself as you were created in the image of God, as you love God, you love You. To look into your mirror on your wall and to see God looking back at you, whether your eyes are a dove's deep dark brown, or whether they are a bright blue or hazel green.

Have a beautiful day to celebrate your existence with God and all the colors of the rainbow as the world's flags fly high in the sky, from all nations, nations everywhere, two thousand universes, believe it or not, all under just ONE God, a loving God Who is capable of Everything. All you have to do is ask.

TALK AND SING TO GOD

Image result for talk and sing to god

Lonely? Even alone in a crowd, looking around for a friendly face? Can you instead be that friendly face? Is there someone who needs attention who you see might want to strike up a conversation? Do people miss you and tell you they miss you when you are not there?

Is there a task you are committed to do everyday, something you love and something that invites others to love you? Do it everyday whether or not you are verbally encouraged to do it by others.

When you are involved in this task, can you summon the Lord to be with you and to guide you, so His Words become your Words. Are you are writer or artist or actor? God is there for us to take hold of His hand, to be our leader, putting you at the head not tail, He is your Leader and you become a leader of humanity this way.

Be at the top, not at the bottom. Eat meat from the front of the bull not the back. As you eat leave a morsel of food on your plate for God to eat. Sing, yes sing, to God, a song of thankfulness for your meal. Sing before and after you eat. God loves song and He will feed you more and more the more you sing.

Want someone to talk to? Talk to God. Say "Hello, Hi, Greetings, Dear God..." He is waiting for you and He awoke you in the morning just so you could accompany Him all day long.

Eat salads and meditate? Where do you think you are? On top of Mount Sinai? Imagine that. Climbing a mountain without your feet and taking  a rest, a meditation, without an airplane to a get away.

And of course, we must thank God, thank Him for never leaving you. Praise Him for holding on to your hand and loving you. And of course, love Him back.

PIRATE SHIPS SUNK IN MIAMI FLORIDA

Image result for sunken yacht in miami

To be on a seashore and to observe hundreds of yachts drifting around upside down, on their side like the death of great white sharks and whales, alligators, swamp snakes.

Million dollar property destroyed, not saleable, victims of two hurricanes, people who once were owners and givers now being in need of charity and donations for the poor, the homeless. They are now the poor and homeless, the tide came in, it simply changed.

You once complained of cold winter weather in Chicago? Changed your mind now as the seasons and weather temperature in Chicago changes from hot to cold and from cold to hot? Not bored anymore, not predictable, no hurricanes that hit Chicago, ever? God moving around shifting from side to side in bed as He views all our circumstances and allows the righteous to have and the wicked to have not.

God killed those in Sodom and Gomorrah and now it is Miami Florida, Cuba, Puerto Rico, The Caribbean Islands, etc. We asked God to save 50 or 40...10, and so we hope to have survivors of this victimization, we now have billionaires who are without anything in a line to get a sip of fresh drinking water. A man who owned a fleet of yachts, but who cannot swim, being rescued from flood waters the same as his servants. Remember it is women and children first, the captain goes down with his ship. Ever see a fat yacht captain sailing close to the shore to show off? Doing a belly dance with a glass of liquor surrounded by beautiful young women like Herod? Did you curse his arrogance and wickedness under your breath being in sync instead with the needs of the poor, in sympathy with the man who polishes those yachts.

Now we are seeing the boats tossed about as sea wrecks, with giant holes ripped into them like were in the Titanic.

Never even been on a yacht in your life to begin with? But your doctor owned one? You did not miss much, a few sharks, deadly water undercurrents, a motorized engine with sharp blades swirling around to cut off your legs.

We are told to give to those who voted for politicians to lower taxes of money for the poor. What comes around goes around.

How easily one can lose everything.

And when it is lost it cannot be recouped. You once had all the electronic gadgets ever sold on the market? You just wanted what your neighbor had looking over the backyard fence at his greener grass? Now, what do you have and what do you not have and what does he have/not?

You have Psalm 23: "The Lord is my Shepherd therefore I lack nothing..."

JEWISH MYSTICAL MEDITATION

Image result for JEWISH MYSTICAL MEDITATION

Meditation. Calming, soothing, serene, easiness, thoughtfulness, wondering, mind-wandering, wishful, rhythmical, breathing in and out in unison, slightly moving one leg and then another, tap tap tap, a drumming of one's heel to the ground, and then the other heel.

Opening one's eyes one and then the other, closing both eyes, a Shin on one's forehead, Shin of Shekinah, Shekinah of Shema. Shem meaning "name" in Hebrew, an added "ah" to feminize it. To talk to Ha'Shem, to pray to "The Name". A Name of a Female, an "ah" at the end. A mother-figure, you yourself, if you are female. To pray to your Motherly spirit, the Cho-achma. The Hebrew word Cho-ach'ma meaning wisdom. The wise and knowledgeable coming forth from water and fire, water and fire elements as women (water) and men (fire). To feel them both as your strength, your stronghold.

To use a mantra as you meditate, a word or sound or just a syllable, to ease your consciousness, to be conscientious.

To feel your blood circulating in your muscles, to be in touch with the organs in your torso, to feel your heart gently predictably rhythmically pumping, all the blood together, mixed, around and around like delicious cake batter in a bowl, tasting sweetly upon your tongue.

To concentrate on an image, or a word, a Word of The Torah. To know what "Chesed" is. Chesed is the Hebrew word for lovingkindness. To feel the Chesed of your parents, of your loved ones, of your family, extended family, cousins and more cousins, your audience, your cheerers, many who count on you, many who are there for you, even more as you remember them in your meditation.

Not strange to meditate. Only strange if you allow it to be strange. Hebrew Torah Word meditation to take you up into the highest of heights.

Climbing Jacob's Ladder into Heaven and never sliding down. But to be grounded in the stability of the moving scale of justice as it balances, naturally, in a soft simple ease of a breeze.

ONE PLUS ONE EQUALS ONE TWO IS TWO-GETHER

Related image

Water and Fire and Earth and Air, which is greater which is more powerful, which is more useful? How do they relate to each other? Can they exist without each other?

Spit fire, a fiery flame, a Shabbat candle and a Havdalah candle, a spark that became a forest fire, a scrape of a flint of an Indian's arrowhead, Vulcan, hot heated horrific, a passionate severing countenance, fire in one's cat eyes, fire in one's heart, burning with green envy, red blue and yellow, orange-ish white bursts of crackling sky blue lightening, a stubborn fire that cannot and will not be snubbed.

What can we use to keep fire under control? Yes! Water, and earth. Without air a fire cannot rage either. Throwing buckets of water and earth on a fire to destroy it. Turning a river around into a mountainous volcano, lava that is the dirtiness of earth on fire, killing the jealous red lava fire, water over fire, water as an ease to one's thirst.

But what of fire to toast our bread or roast our meat? Needing to catch a fish to eat, a fish out of water, out into air.

Giving someone fiery direct eye contact, a tiger's eye, a glare, a penetrating retina, eye to eye, never letting go, never removing one's reasons to see, to hear, to taste, to smell, to feel, to breathe.

Water to break through a high walled dam, crashing bricks, a wall no more, dissolving and mixing, shooting a squirt gun, drowning an idea, kicking a water balloon. Splash! Water atop of fire that kills fire, drowns it, to water the garden of an envious gaze, not to covet your neighbor's green grass, to grow vegetables and to add water to yeast for leavened bread.

An airy nothingness a breeze blowing by, a whisper, a flow, a whistle, a wonder, an inside sucking with two cheeks full, an air balloon, a soap bubble, kid's flying kites higher than the sun.

What is the philosophy behind the existence of water and fire and earth and air?

They all need each other and cannot exist solely without the other. They must be submerged converged as One, ALL together, together-ness, Oneness, in complete stability, predictability but with the unpredictability of a Mother Nature: One Echad, created by One Adonai, One God, One as a Mother with a Father. 1+1=1

THE HISTORY OF THE BILLION YEAR OLD SANDS OF A BEACH

Image result for SANDSTONE
The raindrops you feel and the mist in the air, the dew drops on the leaves of vegetation in your backyard, the moistness on your fingertips, living a few blocks away from the Sea of Reeds, where is this sea? The great Nile, the great Lake Michigan, the clouds of water in the sky, slowly moving then quickly moving, winds everywhere, hurricanes, tornadoes, tsunamis, thunderstorms, even just a momentary sprinkling, open your mouth and stick out your tongue. Catch these water droplets and taste them, to catch sweetness upon your tongue, to taste it and to love it.

To be at a beach, a place filled with natural grains of chipped ground rock that becomes sand granules. To feel the ancientness of these sands, how old do you think they are? Blown away in the wind, sand that is over a billion years old. Want to celebrate a birthday, celebrate the birthday of the sands you are standing upon.

Blow out the candle every Havdalah, end of Shabbat. Something to look forward to everyday. A walk, a stroll, a skip, a movement forward as the sands take us back thousands, millions, billions of years. Yes, you have a history, the same as these sands. A real history of a family tree that goes back into ancient times. Related to a Prophet in The Torah, or to Noach. Yep, we all go back that far, deeply rooted in the stories of the past, and we live now and will continue to live through our spirit after we die.

THE COLDNESS OF A SANDSTORM AT THE BEACH

Image result for sandstorm

A sandstorm, with harsh cruel silver lightening flashes, waters gushing forth from clouds above, rain like diamonds as hailstones cutting like pocket knives into the bodies of cars and trucks, gouging a hole into someone's head, catching hail like baseballs with a mit, golf balls, slicing splitting things in half, running with no site to take shelter.

The freezing-ness of a hailstorm, ice crystals, small snowmen, cold blasts and windstorm, sand picking up on the shoreline, lake waters rippling like sheaves of hay thrown everywhere, a harvest of broken bread, bread dipped dumped, escalated skated, open mouths with no one being fed, slipping on icy pavement as you try to get under a tree, trees falling trees not to be worshiped, not a Christmas tree, not an old Oak or Maple, idols all.

Calling to God to safely take you out of this sandstorm, to protect your property your car your household, a time to know that all are targeted as was Sodom and Gemorrah, God said all must go, all must drown or burn except for Lot and his family. No choices, dust blown away, God did not save 100, or 75 or 50, even though there could have been more than one good soul.

The wearing of black clothing after destruction, phoenixes appearing out of the dust, people without shoes, slippers, a place to hide, a place warm without ice, a place to quench thirst, a place welcoming after a sickness of a sandstorm.

Bomb shelters all filled up, the coast is clear, look upwards no rockets, a sky not lighted up, a firework of celebration not a missile. Opening shelter doors, back to work, no one killed, a Wizard of Oz who returns us all home, a Wizard Who came out to disclose Himself, saying Who He really is is God.

SWIMMING OR DROWNING?

Image result for SWIMMING OR DROWNING

Are you a swimmer or are you afraid to swim? Can you float or dog paddle the water with your legs, use a float or surfboard or life preserver to keep your head above water? Do you know enough not to swim when the waves are too high and are too dangerous to swim in? What about this awesome ugly undercurrent that is responsible for swimming deaths.

In the Pirkei Avot, the holy Jewish book, Our Ancestors, it teaches us "If someone drowns you, someone will then drown him, and whosever drowns him will be drowned."

So, this great awesome lake becomes a dreaded mysterious enemy, a place where people are drowned. These undercurrents being the reason why.

Are you a daredevil and do not know enough to come out of the rain? Have you a motorcycle in your garage, or even a bicycle? No helmet? No red or yellow blinking lights or rear view mirror? Do you go out late at night alone, and even the rats cannot keep you inside?

Play the game according to the rules. Stay home at night, do not swim in a thunderstorm, do not ride a motorcycle or bicycle with or without a helmet. Do not travel alone on the road. If there is no reason to be out, then be inside instead. If you are female without male companionship, you must advocate for yourself, being knowledgeable enough to come inside from the rain, and to convince others that you are smart enough to do this.

Not needing male counter partnerships, obeying the rules and not abusing the night and its effects on your safety, convince others that you do not need your own rulebook, that you are intelligent and caring enough not to worry people over your comings and goings.

Catching pneumonia or sinus infections, even just the common cold. No, there is no cure for the common cold or other infections, antibiotics do not cure all ailments. Be sure to baby yourself and get well, without others needing to care give you. Stay home, stay warm, not to get overly warm in hot summer weather days. Not to pretend you are a lost dog, a lost puppy without a place towards home.

To be able to accept the worry of others and thank them but show them as a living example that you are living a responsible lifestyle.

BECOMING A WHITE DOVE OF PEACE

Related image

Wading your bare feet in moving natural lake waters, some days it is warm and other days it is cold. Some days the waves are high and some days the waves are low. Some days there is froth and some days not.

Stones getting wedged in between your toes, water sticking sand onto your feet, rough tough grainy sand to take off with a washcloth. Tongs on your feet so the soles do not burn. Walking on dreadfully hot sands, dune grass slicing but you try to avoid it.

Listening as hard as you can for the call of the seagulls, seagulls becoming turtledoves, birds from The Torah, flying in command of the entire lake like diving pilots dipping for fish to carry away in their beaks, to feed themselves and their young. Rabbi said that seagulls are reincarnated Levites. Webbed feet they dance on piers and on the shoreline. A Friday night Shabbat dance, whooping and screeching, the dust flies up and the waters swoosh.

A mikvah in 100% natural waters. Nothing like it anywhere, the body and souls are cleansed.

Changing from being a Black Raven to becoming a White Dove of Peace.

FLOODING WATERS BECOMING DRINKING WATERS

Image result for meditation in lake waters

The Promise, Covenant of our Lord that He would never flood the Earth again as He did when Noach built his Ark to save the animal kingdom and humans, humans are we all descended from Noach, his family, he is all of our ancestor. What are these rains that we were promised never to happen again?

The rains of the rainiest weather ever, lugging and pulling huge heavy sandbags to pile up one over the other, to stop the flow of water that without sand would not stop. Like camels carrying these bags, one on each hump, tossing them to stop a flood. Flood waters that are voracious, an army of shellfish to provoke us to eat, dams we build like beavers with buckteeth, logs over logs, floating logs, chewed up logs, one log over the other, dams breaking as waves appear with a massive gust of wind, beavers drowning, waters again covering the Earth dams or no dams, damn it. Basements filling up with water, seeping through cracks in the foundations of the house through cement, pipes from the city outside forcing its way through your house pipes, sewer water, a back up of flooding waters everywhere, your backyard and front yards like rivers, boats going from house to house to rescue, to save human lives and property. Trees uprooted floating and slamming into home walls, climbing up on top of roofs swinging onto helicopters into hospitals.

To find a plastic floating surfboard, to float on our backs, to wait until the sun warms the Earth enough to solidify the waters to then become dust, sand everywhere, sandy soil, no more wading waters, waters that are just enough to drink and bathe.

Normalcy again in little ponds that become puddles, walking through water on rocks that are visible, barefooted, small splashes, no need to build another Ark as a houseboat, fountains to cup our hands, to wash our hands, to sip water again to remain hydrated.

The Covenant upheld, flooded waters dried up, multi-colored rainbows appearing everywhere you look, His signature to us the rains decrease and then are no more, a drink to life, a rainbow and a drink. Thank you, G-D, for again fulfilling Your Promise.

MEDITATION IN MIKVAH LAKE WATERS

Image result for meditation in lake waters

The sloshing around with bare feet in the sands just at the tip of the shoreline, water coming rushing in, exploding like 4th of July fireworks, splashing onto your feet up to your ankles and the next wave to splash onto your knees whetting your pants you pulled up to try to save and remain dry, but droplets everywhere, dryness not, moisture on your lips and legs, water surfing on each wave without a surfboard.

Sinking lower and lower into a pool of sand like quicksand but not, in your imagination you must avoid sinking too low, stretching your legs out of the sand, sinking them again into the sand where another wave splashes. How to escape the waves and water? Everywhere is water, but with the thirst of the mouth craving to be relieved as you lick your lips.

Success from stones becoming harmless pebbles from the sandy  grainy shore sticking to the bottoms of your bareness of feet in between your toes, shaking off, soles of your bare feet becoming two souls within your body on a Saturday, two souls  that are inside of you which occurs on the Sabbath, as you cleanse your feet and sing blessings to praise and thank G-D for everything.

To be proud of your heritage of Davidic and Levi Lineage as your feet usurp slurping lake purity waters, praying and wishing, swishing, moving around with 100% natural mikvah waters, a way to cleanse yourself everyday of the week even when you have not disobeyed a law of purity.

Why do some people shun meditation dissing it as strange, uncommon, not real, out of the ordinary? I think everyone should at least try meditation and try to find some peace in this natural way to ease the mind and relax the body. Gandhi was not the only one in the world who tried and liked meditation. This meditation is a way to a better world for all of us.

As each wave of water caresses your feet and ankles becoming a friend as you meditate on The Lord, you will be able to feel a peace so soothing like none other.

Hello G-D, we are with you, dipping in mikvah waters or not, to beckon to You The Lord to help us, calling to our deceased parent(s) to help us too.

Hashkiveinu, Adonai! [Help us, G-D!] We are with You, please remain with us as we adorn You.

MIKVAH IN MOVING WATERS

Image result for mikvah in lake

Rushing Lake Michigan waters or a swift stream, a bubbling brook or a flowing river. Spraying, frothing up from the bottom treasures of the lake whetting all above, bottom of lake meeting sky blessing blue clouds with mistiness, tohu and bohu creating oneness in their union, tippy tops of waves wonderfully moistening mistiness creating dew, condensation, evaporation, becoming cooling clouds, seeing Cirrus and Cumulus, comforting.

Opening your lips, mouth, slightly and swallowing wet air but not wheezing, diving deeply into still waters or to just dip a small body part into moving waters as opposed to still, purifying one's entire body with the emersion of just one foot, to receive cleanness without soap, instead a positive union with The Lord under water becoming pure fruition happening at nightfall after the emersion.

It is a "zav" mikvah, or a mikvah that also cancels out all other impurities, to be clean with just a touch of a toe into moving Great Lake Michigan water or any other moving waters.

To then after a dip bury your newly clean feet into hot sands, dustiness but not dirtiness, purity flowing throughout all body parts, a clean soul and physical body, a clean brain, because your feet and ankles touched holy moving waters.

To mikvah everyday, to cancel out all impureness daily, to be in a holy state in which to talk to G-D, to sing to G-D, to pray to G-D.

FREEDOM THROUGH FORGIVENESS

Related image

Are you angry and upset about things you cannot change, from conversations with family or friends who repeat negative phrases day after day or try to confuse you, or angry at people who try to force you to think and feel one way when you do not tend in their directions, but they cannot face it and so day after day there is dissension.

Do people who supposedly are there to give out good advice tell you the only way to deal with difficult people is to not deal with them. They encourage you to end relationships even if your relationship is with a daughter son or mother father?

How can we keep up the struggle and turn this struggle around into actions of loving-kindness instead of negativity.

Is it possible to repair a relationship that goes bad and turn it around into a relationship that G-D Himself mends so both parties have freedom from guilt and instead love for each other? Freedom through our forgiveness and abilities to move on, move forward, to give acknowledgement to G-D as a male or female entity, your choice, or as a combo of male/female, not to argue over genders, not to dump G-D because someone else thinks they own Him and tells you it is impossible for you to have a relationship with G-D.

Don't do what others want you to do and to be, do what you yourself want yourself to do and to be. If it is praying to the ONE ALL-Mighty G-D then that is your right.

You need to please no one except G-D, Who is yours.

THE GREAT ATLANTIC AND PACIFIC OCEANS

Image result for ocean

A body of wandering wild water that extends hungrily from one end of the Earth to the other. Expansive, huge, humungous. Salt as a mineral in water to tingle the skin. So much water, to never worry of thirsting again.

Heavy heaves of hot waves, waves that are not wishing, waves that are blessing. Tumbling tidal waves, tsunamis, big boating, riding atop of a wave curl as cute as a young girl on water, balanced on a surfboard: frothy like Ajax dishwashing liquid, cleanness, natural water, 100% pureness.

The Great Atlantic and Pacific Oceans: seeing sea shells strewn seriously about and around over multiple grains of golden grounded sands, piercing green dunes grass sticking up in piles of bushes, smell of BBQ fires roasting luscious fish, a place to eat, a place to rest.

Exercising swimming, floating on one's back in the ocean water like a lazy Great White Whale, housing for Jonah, smoothing on suntan and sunscreen lotions, bronzing the skin, sipping cool iced water and feeling altogether awesome!

A pool of a place of social activity, listening to delightful music and the swishing of the waves.

A Great Time in the Eternity of the Great Oceans!

SUMMERTIME WITH LOVE SURGING UP FROM THE DEEP SEAS

Image result for beach

The huge wet water breakers bubbling up from the depths of the bluish-green seas flooding the shores like sparkling soda water, purity as natural waters, waters that are moving waters from one point to the next, a geometric cycle of wave after predictable wave, hypnotizing. A meditation with the echo of a swish like the swish of a horses' tail, wave after super swish-wishing wave, horsepower and greatness of a Kentucky Derby winning horse, a steaming locomotive engine!

Warm sands as your easy lounging chair, deepening memory foam, a curvature of comfort around body hip curves. Warmth from the sun-soaked sands as well as in the warm temperature of natural water. Pouring rays of sunlight, yellow/golden, a place to feel the warmth of millions of golden coins, but without spending a penny.

The warmth of your Mother's arms surrounding your being, the warmth of her gentle hands and arms, breastfed, creamy milk like cream-colored clouds, for you as a gentle pummeling repetition of ray after ray of sunlight, appearing again and again. The back of a cloud being silver as the front of the cloud is sparking as diamonds, as the clouds move passed you, the brilliant Sapphire blue vast expanses of sky, ONE G-D, ONE universe.

Remembering this warmth afterwards, as a memory of love, a lover to you as is G-D, G-D being there when your mother or father cannot, the sun warm like love whether or not your family is with you or not, in spirit as ancestors, not to deny them, an affection of love and respect carried on forever, being a gift from G-D to us.

THE COMFORT OF WINTER WARMTH ON THE SEASHORE

Image result for winter on lake MI

To enjoy the wintertime coldness as you walk along the Lake seashore, feeling the blustery cold blasts of wind searing past your face, tickling your skin and causing you rosy red cheeks without having to pinch them.

A winter walking in the frozen sands, but protected in layers of warm garments, clothes you have collected as a Woman of Valor, spinning woolen garments of jackets, scarves, hats, gloves, all protection against the weaponry of winter snow monsters who try to freeze you and frighten you away.

Climbing up Mount Sinai everyday in this protective armor of a knight's warm clothing, fighting the dreading of dragons as you climb, reaching the top of the Mountain despite the snowcaps and slippery terrain, receiving the Tablets from Moses each day as you climb, the Tablets of the Commandments of The One True Almighty G-D, to have them each day with a mission, each day with a reason to live.

A winter, yes, darkness with shorter days, yes, but battling the darkness each night with the glories of hope as you look forward to Hanukkah and the abundance of light from the Menorah. Candles with white hot light, lighting up even the darkest of nights. Pots of fire, like the bonfires in our backyards during Lag B' Omer in the springtime, but instead at wintertime, candles all neatly lined up in a row in an organized fashion. A Menorah with a memory of the battles of the Maccabees and our winnings of these battles as the fire light burned miraculously and peacefully for 8 days. An oil so strong and so sufficient, an olive oil, a healing oil, a light that never burned out, lighted on Hanukkah, the brilliancy of lightness even without the light from a sun or a moon.

A walk along the seashore to swallow the cold breeze, to let it tickle your throat as you are covered in scarves and a warm hat. To appreciate this winter that is on its way, to thank G-D for providing us with the comfort of winter warmth on the seashore.

WEARING THE EMPORER'S NEW CLOTHES ON THE BEACH

Image result for the emperor's new clothes

"And Noach was old, he imbibed himself in the drink of potent liquor and removed his garments to reveal his nakedness to his sons who saw him, and who then rushed to his side with blankets to cover their Father so he would not be exposed." [~Torah]

To be in a Great Lake and to take a mikvah bath! To jump into a moving high spilling water wave with all of your heavy body in the pure nakedness of honey straight from the nest of a bee.

A mikvah bath to reveal yourself: all your thoughts, speech and actions in openness and honesty with The Lord. He then cleanses your entire being with the purity of Lake Water from Lake Michigan, the Greatest of the Great Lakes of the USA.

To reach for a forthcoming cloud in the sky as your garment, to cover your pureness with this cloud, to be in the mist, not visible to anyone except for the sun who sees you with its light.

To take this sun and to wear it as your crown, to put these golden rays shooting like stars, like Stars of David from the top of your head, a sun that is a golden crown, wearing this sunlight proudly as the light represents your goodness.

To tickle your bare feet by wearing the beach water sand on your feet. Each granule of sand like salt, like rocks of Kosher salt, the sand worn on your feet as shoes. The grains of sands in the millions as they cover the soles of your feet and ankles, like wearing boots but not in the snow.

Using the sage green, dark green dune grass to cover your hands as gloves, the deepness of the forests of these dune grasses winding around each of your fingers like a tefilin is wound around the hand in Jewish Prayer. Each blade of grass sharper than the one before to sharpen your hands as they receive commands from your sharpened brain to perform mitzvoth.

To never be impure, to always be all be covered, to not be exposed, to wear the garments provided to you by The Lord from our Earth, garments available even to the homeless. To wear these holy garments of Mother Earth who is the Shekinah.

The clothes in our environment to be warm in the winter when the Great Lake freezes over becoming glaciers, crimson clothes, not linen mixed with wool, carefully skillfully sewn together by The Women of Valor.

THE PEACEFUL MOMENTS OF SILENCE ON A LAKE

Image result for SILENCE ON A LAKE

The wonderful sounds of silence! No baby in a crib next to your bed crying all night to wake you up out of a deep sleep, no one snoring next to you as he sleeps and steals all the blankets. A night of complete silence and complete rest.

A daytime also of this silence. Silence that is comforting, not to hear or listen to gossip or the ranting and raving of others, not to hear their complaints, this silence growing on you like green ivy deeply embedding its roots into your skin, water and nourishment coming into you from these roots, these Jewish roots you have inherited from your parent(s).

The silence of darkness and also enjoying the silence of a bright sun, sitting comfortably on a beach with the sun rising silently into the middle of the upper skies, you cannot hear the sun as it rises.

The upper skies of clouds thick with rain water that unite and meet with the lower waters below, the union forming a colorful rainbow, the signature of G-D in the sky as He signed His Covenant with you, confirming a lifetime of this silence, this peace you feel.

A Shabbat without electronics, without intrusions of sounds you do not want to hear. The quietness of a Great Lake, only lightly being aware of each wave after wave, echoing the voice of G-D in these moments.

These peaceful moments of silence.

AND GOD SAID "LET THERE BE LIGHT"

Image result for sunglasses at the beach

“'And G-d said, Let there be light, and there was light.' This was the first of the utterances by which G-d created the world, and light was the first of all creations." [Torah]

Light, light-heartedness, lightly, light-loving, lightened, lighter, lightness, lighting a candle, lighting two candles, Shabbat candles, lighting yarzeit candles.

A window next to your bed that emits so much light your eyes squint, the sunlight at a lake beach with a danger of burning in the sun, too much light, suntan oils to color your body brown, tanning and basking in this light, a suntan as a status symbol.

She asked: "Where did you go on your summer vacation?" I said "I went to Florida! See my beautiful brown tanned skin?"

Feeling light as if it is really "love" and not just light, the light being so bright it lights up as a light bulb of creative ideas above your head, always with an idea, all ideas being original ideas.

Loving light. Having light feel so warm as it caresses your bare skin even with the glass of a window in between you and the sun. This natural sunlight feeling so good, reminding you of the warmth of your Mother's lap as she fed you her warm breast milk when you were just a babe, breast-fed and lulled to sleep in the warmth on your Mother's lap, robed like a royal Prince/Princess in soft blankets, coddled, her chest of steady rhythmic up and down motions like a rocking sailboat, a rocking cradle, swaying back and forth. Listening to her breathing as music, soft, like the sweet singing of a violin cradled in her arms, her smooth skin as a puffy pillow for your head.

Having been fed this milk as a baby in a home that was warm in the winter. And rocked to sleep in a cradle filled with toys and stuffed animals. Now, to never go thirsty always to have this memory of the nourishment of this milk and the warmth of this sunlight, so you can work by day.

Then approaching a night, a bright sun going down, a sunset, a sundown. A darkened sky that changes from the color blue to purple to pinkish colored clouds with mirror-like reflections of the moon, a new moon, a "Rosh Chodesh" the once-a-month Jewish minor Holiday, dancing with other women, a circle of women dancing in a string, floating gleefully on top of water in a lake but not getting wet.

Becoming spiritually "enlightened" in this light G-D created as you study Torah, keep the Commandments, and follow Jewish Halakhah, simply by "loving your neighbor."

Turning light into love as the light of your future becomes so bright, ya' gotta wear shades!

BEAUTIFUL PERFECT PEOPLE SEEN AT A BEACH PARK

Image result for PERFECT BODIES ON A BEACH

Being today in transport to "The Place of Beautiful People." Where is this place? This place is just two blocks east of my home at a public beach called Loyola Park Beach. A place to gaze upon humans and to witness some that are the cream of the crop.

Beautiful bronzed colored skins on bodies and hair bleached blonde with lemon juice flowing in golden locks upon strong shoulders. Cinderella's fantasy everywhere you look. Beauties like winners in Beauty Pageants, all come to relax and to swim at this beach. Seeing Homecoming Beauties of youthful ages, women with bodies so perfect you have never witnessed this amazement before. Clothed, but scantily in small one or two pieced bathing suites. Muscles on their bodies to show their hard work at gymnastics clubs where they are members.

To see someone and to be amazed at their good looks! Wondering if what you are seeing is a Goddess or an Angel!

Sleek trim bodies everywhere you look, like white colored cheetahs striding with long feminine legs like cats who are hunting for their prey. Women who look catty, possessing large green eyes under dark green sunglasses, piercingly looking back at you as you cannot remove your gaze, being mesmerized into a trance-like state, seeing someone who looks unreal, like the most beautiful person ever living in the whole wide world!

Men in short shorts leaping before you like a Russian dancers jumping high into the sky! Like antelope with chests uncovered, bareness, nakedness, protruding abs and well developed chest muscles, stomachs so firm they can take all your punches. Men carrying large heavy loads of beach equipment upon their backs and shoulders, men like slaves sweating beads of sweat dripping like diamonds, working hard, heavily, under hot suns as they carry a burden from one side of the beach to the other, knapsacks like travelers bags filled, packed, with suntan lotions, lunches, and bottled water.

A beach just for you, next door to your home, a beach like a zoo, but filled instead of animals, with perfect supermen and superwomen, humans who like the Greek and Roman gods are generous gifts to the eyes, being gorgeous in their physiques with perfectly formed bodies to be tempting, almost edible!

All for your daily pleasure to be seen at a neighborhood Lake Michigan Beach Park down your block.

THE STRENGTH IN THE PEACE OF FLOWING WATERS

Image result for FLOWING WATERS

Peace will bring you strength.

Floating downstream on a kayak, just you and the slow sure predictable movement of the still waters or moving waters, being an owner of a yacht to be in command of the seas, using the sumptuous seas as your padded mattress, sleeping on the warm sands of a clean beach, having peaceful patience as you wait for the tide of the water to come in, as it always does.

Having peace through your interpretation of the meaning and purpose of colors. Being an artist who knows colors and how to use them to bring you strength, strength from the peace of a prism as you watch rainbows bounce as reflected sunlight coloring your world with all the colors of the rainbow, being followed through life with this innate appreciation of colors as an artist and always being in peace with all colors.

Using the deepness of the color blue to bring you strength, as the color blue flies in the flag of Israel, and Israel teaches us peace. The blue waters to bring you peace, the blue skies to bring you peace, the blue throne of G-D to bring you peace.

In meditation using repetitive Hebrew language phrases so to always be in song. The sweetness and beauty of this song and meditation to bring you peace, always to be in peace.

Peace as your healer, as your motivator, as your catalyst, as your reason to rise out of bed each morning. To teach others peace. To be healed using peace as your doctor, having the healthiness of a peaceful existence.

Silence as your peace, hearing only crickets in the night, walking softly on hard wood floors, the quietness of a library in your everyday existence, quietness as your music, the sound of a leaf falling off a tree, the sound of it hitting the ground. Not a crunch, the sounds instead of silence.

Peace to know where your next meal is coming from. Having a kitchen, a chef, a shopper, a dishwasher. Nets instead of to be catching butterflies, catching manna G-D rains on us from the sky. Opening your mouth and having it filled.

Never to have a worry, never to have a care, to be in peace at all times with all people.

Fasting without manna falling from your sky, being purposely hungry on a Jewish Fast Day, purposely closing  your mouth and not biting with your teeth, not cooling your throat with the peaceful waters, not drinking and not eating.

Having then a care, a concern, for those who do without, for the poor who are hungry and everyday is their "Fast Day," feeling this hunger in your gut so you feel the plights of others, feel compassion for those who do without, like Ghandi who fasted for peace, you have peace as there is  no food, your liver and kidneys detox with the Fast.

Sitting on the wet sands with flowing water all around you but without a drop to drink.

Having peace as you derive the experience and wisdom of those who are without peace, those who spend everyday in a Fast, having a care, but not a worry, spending your life in the care of those who do without.

RIDING WITH THE CHANGES IN THE MOTIONS OF THE SEAS

Image result for high water lake waves

The stimulation of splashing cold lake water on the palms of your hands splashed upon your face, tingling, refreshingly, circulating, exciting and awakening!

Rip Van Winkle who was supposed to have slept for 100 years is awakened. Startling and splashing Sleeping Beauty from her long sleep, kissed by the wetness of the waves. The Seven Dwarfs Sleepy and Dopey, a splash of cool lake water jumpstarting them, feeling alertness coming out of deep meditation, reacting to the sound of the Jewish Shofar, ram's horn, as it penetrates like the sound of scraping steel into your ears, also opening your eyes.

The feeling of cool lake water on your toes, awakening your legs, stretching, having cold feet not in fear or stage fright, instead to sing and to toast with red Kosher wine or grape juice stimulated into automatic sweet song singing the Wine Blessing.

Breaking the bread, a sweet bread for sweet and holy Rosh Hashanah, breaking out in loud sweet song, The Motzi! Clear for all to hear!

To watch these waves of the sea with your right hand on the seas and your left hand on the rivers, changing waves in color from blue to green, then from green to blue.

Soft smooth scaly skins of chameleons changing in color with the changing of emotions, moods.

The changing of the guard from a Levi to a Kohayne, the changing of the temperature of the water from warm to cool, shaded in a sunset of the evening, changing into a sunrise of the morning.

Aware of change, gliding like a private plane on a gust of the wind changing in its direction from west to east, riding the surf of a wave aboard a surfboard, but not falling off. Taking life's changes as they come with an awareness of change, an acceptance of change.

Forever boldly meeting life's obstacles that are the causes of these changes.

HEEDING THE CRY OF THE RAM'S HORN AS AUTUMN CHANGES TO WINTER

Image result for WINTER ON A LAKE

In the changing of the seasons of time, to see the rivers and seas change with these seasons, to feel a chill in the lake water where there was warmth in the waves before.

To dig your bare feet into sands that are no longer hot sands but are sands of coolness in the shade of a tree that in autumn now has leaves of color. Multi-colored leaves of reds, yellows, and gold, no longer greens. A leaf like a dead spirit that has fallen from a tree to warn us as with the sound of the ram's horn that winter coldness will soon be upon us.

To feel the coolness of a wind that used to be but a warm summer breeze, winds speeding over the tops of blue lake waters bending sails of boats, tipping them dangerously on their sides, no longer having stability. Soon to see water turn into ice, a cold stone covered with the lace of a snowflake, icy breakers of solid frozen water that once flowed as streams, to be icebergs or snowcapped mountain tops.

Instead of swimming, to be ice skating, taking snowshoes and hiking on the whiteness of icy beaches, skiing with long poles digging into white mounds as you gain speed on the ice but without turning wheels.

Sledding not on horseback, instead in the cabin of a sleigh, steering a sled runner to avoid hitting snowmen built by children on the sides of roads. Snowmen with charcoal black eyes and carrots for noses, snowmen padded from large snowballs, guarding as warriors the safety of snow forts made of ice as bricks, a place to hide from a stray flying snowball thrown in fun.

From summer to autumn to winter, from green to red to yellow, from a child to a teen to an adult, from a girl to a wife to a mother. Times are changing, we are no longer who we used to be.

Spinning crimson colored wool into jackets and scarves, hats, as women of valor we prepare, a time to feel woman-made warmth even when it is cold.

Lighting candles of hot flames to toast into warmness the thawing cold fingertips.

Sleeping in beds of goose-down filled comforters, no longer in sheets. A time to drink hot chocolate beverages, to toast our cups to the richness of the will-be warmth, safe in the preparation of the coming of the future of a snowy day.
